That sucks, a little anyway... At least you have something to look forward to after the trip...

If you hit Disney, check out the Aerosmith coaster, and if you go to Universal, you HAVE to ride The Hulk. Both coasters kick ass. Either way, have a great time with the boys, and if you can find it go to Angel's seafood buffet..

Hey guys!
Still wating on word from ESP on the arrival of my guitar. The store where I ordered it called me yesterday and said that they had heard from them and it should be sometime this coming week for it`s arrival.
The unfortunate part(well sort of) is I leave this afternoon for a little R&R time in Orlando with my kids.
See ya in a week!!

Does anyone have a reputable source for "The Rage" - Bass tabs?
[guitardude] Sunday, March 01, 2009 6:49:51 PM
Sadly no!! Original estimates for arrival were mid March, but I`m still hoping for an earlier date.

Is it here yet?

I like Alder and Basswood myself, Maple is just so damn heavy!! I  am curious about the Floyd"special" also. But, worst case scenario, I could put in the real deal. The routing should be close enogh to work. If not I`ll just keep wrenching at it until it`s right. It couldn`t be a bad guitar, it retails for 719.99 by what the store I ordered it from told me. I negotiated a much cheaper price. My biggest fear is it will end up a POS,and not be even close to my liking.
I have tried the LTD`s and the necks are nice, not a Jackson`s, but still nicely shaped and finished.
They also had the newer production Charvels, if I could have got them to come down to around 700 for one, i would have gotten it(So Cal model in black). Now I`m just waitng as patiently as I can.   LTD or not, I`m still excited about it!!!   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by SDBinNY from Tuesday, February 24, 2009 5:21:13 PM)

I haven't heard anything negative about the LTD's, a lot of the people who have them love them. We all know you can't go wrong with the Duncan Screamin Demon. From what I have just read, the 200MT comes with a Floyd (although I have no clue what the "special" is. Do expect a different tone all together, though. George LOVES his maple bodies and the 200MT is basswood....
[guitardude] Tuesday, February 24, 2009 3:31:22 PM

The Bengal M-1 would be it.  Only I`ve ordered the LTD version, since the job isn`t so secure right now, I had to go cheapo!!
But at least I can justify spending the cash for a real Floyd and the Screamin Demon later on!! mainly went for it for the paint job.
Somebody got me going on tiger`s!!

[guitardude] Monday, February 23, 2009 4:28:27 PM
It saddens me to post this, but all that know me should know. I am now officially "guitar-less", sold my BC Rich two weeks ago.
BUT!!!! It was only a few days later that I ordered another axe, this time to pay tribute to my favorite player!!! The amazing George Lynch!!!
If all goes as planned, it should be in my possession by mid- March !
[guitardude] Monday, February 16, 2009 7:54:51 PM
I`m with you on that SDB, money better well spent(bike stuff, yea!!). The speed loader is cool, but to limited IMO.

For that kind of cash, I would expect a few more options. As far as the Speedloader is concerned, they can keep it....
[guitardude] Sunday, February 08, 2009 2:50:59 PM
Red with the maple fingerboard, I think I`d like to try the scallops!!
[Vaillant 3.0] Sunday, February 08, 2009 12:42:10 PM
I like the red one. Preferably non-scalloped as I might break a string or five. I'll take ebony, I like the dark wood color...
And I'll keep K.K's logo, 'cause it looks cool!!!

Ahhhhh, that is new. The statement under the pictures about the "volume" that is (<===could easily be misunderstood too, IMO. Call it a damn knob!). On KK's site there was even an article explaining how he had his luthier move the knob from the back to the front after a couple of tries with it in back.

So, that aside, what color? Ebony or maple? Scalloped or not? Come on you (NON) guitar gurus! What options would you choose?   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by SDBinNY from Sunday, February 08, 2009 7:05:32 AM)

[SDBinNY] Sunday, February 08, 2009 7:05:32 AM
Did you read the page or just look at the picture? They clearly state that the volume pot was left off so KK could put it where he wanted it and the new ones will ship with the pot installed where KK put it.

Personally, I don't care for the push/pull pot for switching, and would go without the inlays...
[guidogodoy] Sunday, February 08, 2009 4:23:29 AM
Ok, who let this thread drop so far?!?

KxK guitar. Being sold with a limited number of configurations. First, red or white? Hmmm.... then come the real questions: what type of fingerboard? Scalloped and logo, no brainers. Only wish they had the option of putting that volume knob in its God given place, in front! Still, come on guitar gurus, what do you all think? I would tend towards matching exactly what KK had last tour (white..but what neck that??). Thoughts?

i like those columns especially michel angelo Batio's. Dave mustaine and Eric Peterson had some insightful columns as well. Those columns are basically the only real lessons i get nowadays. I also have great respect for Paul Gilbert i LOVE the Racer X stuff.

I can tell you that I saw Jennifer doing "Flight" on a daily basis in 1986 @ M.I. during group lessons.  She had obviously been doing it for quite a while at that point to be able to perform it at that level.

From Jennifer's site:

Jennifer has authored two music books and ihas just released her third solo CD/DVD entitled “Whatever”.  With this 3rd effort, she’s ventured into electronica, vocal samples, and film. She’s supporting this release with a multimedia one woman show, playing guitar in synch with films projected onto a giant screen. The companion DVD includes over 90 min of art films, previously unreleased music videos, interviews, commentary, and an innovative guitar lesson.

And as a correction of my previous statement, she is now a Washburn endorsee.....

What ever happened to Jennifer Batten? I`ve seen her rendition of "Flight" a few times, very impressive.

[SDBinNY] Thursday, January 08, 2009 4:56:29 PM
Batten is an Ibanez endorsee and she does tap it, but it is a far more pleasant rendition. Kee Marcello (replaced John Norum in Europe) was the first I ever saw do it, and his was awesome as well. IIRC that was in 1986...

The dexterety is impressive, but Bumble is chromatic, and becomes rather mechanical after a while. I can't help but wonder how fried his tendons will be in 5 or 10 years....
[K2M] Thursday, January 08, 2009 12:50:19 PM
Nuno Bettencourt did the "Flight"  in 1990. "PornoGraffitti"
[Deep Freeze] Thursday, January 08, 2009 11:52:48 AM
Yes. I suppose you have a point, however, Batten's version (at least the one I have seen) is more "tapping" and it appears she is using some kind of modified "keytar" to me. Not that it isn't  a  very talented effort , but it does not seem to be the same thing from what I could gather. At least to my over-simplified ears!  I like the "blender" analogy!  Very clever! This guy does get to the point where it is rather difficult to hear the notes but I think it is a remarkable example of musical dexterity, if nothing else.
[Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by SDBinNY from Wednesday, January 07, 2009 6:17:31 PM)
[SDBinNY] Wednesday, January 07, 2009 6:17:31 PM
That may look good when they print the new Guiness book, but seriously, it is no more musical than listening to a blender.

Yes, that is "Flight", but I would rather listen to Jennifer Batten's version every day, three times a day, than hear the world record version again.....
[Deep Freeze] Wednesday, January 07, 2009 11:18:30 AM
A truly incredible performance, indeed. I believe the song is called "Flight of the Bumblebee", is it not? Spectacular. Although I would take you anytime over that guy, MM!

I have only played one of the Schecters, but I have no idea what model it was. They are gorgeous pieces, and very affordable as well. I didn't take the time to plug it in, but it felt really good.

How you making out in Buffalo, MM? Getting pretty nasty here in Rottenchester....
[METAL MELTDOWN] Thursday, December 18, 2008 7:06:56 AM
I played one at a guitar center here in Buffalo and it was smooth as silk and it was a beautiful instrument with the inlays and the flame maple top...

Probably the 52,42,32 set?
Those will cause the rise on the bridge for sure. The Floyd type just seems to be happiest with 9 to 42`s.
Is the shop still going to put the same gauge on ?
