Hey everyone, here's just a crappy little video of me playing some riffs I wrote a little while ago.

Jazz in the neck position is stock, so you'd have to swap that out, and that would add another $75 to the extra grand you are paying for binding, an OFR, and ebony.

The Ebony fret board. No Jazz pickups for me. Original Floyd.

The KE5 and KE3 are alder bodied as well, and all three models also come with the Duncan JB and Jazz pickups.

Once I find a reputable luthier, I will inquire of this process. Can`t say I`m familiar with it. PLEK, accronym for something? I guess my lack of knowledge on this one is from using an old school guy for so long, he did everything the hard way, micrometer and crown files!!! But damn he did good work !!

If at all possible, look into the PLEK process. It evalutates the fret condition with a laser under string tension and is rumored to be absolutely phenomenal.

The only difference in construction of the KE2 and KE5 is the binding and fingerboard wood, so that is just a matter of preference. Personally I have really been more into bolt ons lately, so I would go for the KE3 myself. If buget was no issue or someone was giving it to me, I would gladly accept a KE2, though. The JS30KE does absolutely nothing for me, a Kelly  should never have dot inlays...   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Bazooka Joe from Sunday, October 18, 2009 11:28:24 PM)

Really out of my realm but I like #4. Simple but with the Floyd Rose.

My vote.

What would you guys say is the BEST Kelly on this page?

I'm swaying more towards the USA one. Anyone care to put more info in? I'm just curious. Not buying.

Yea, I kind of figured that is what I would have to do. Looking into a place in Ohio that another member has used. I have seen their work in person and it`s remarkable.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by SDBinNY from Sunday, October 18, 2009 6:43:43 AM)

It may be time for a pro set up. Might need a truss rod adjustment and a fret level and polish by now, so I would consider having it done....

Open question here. I have been adjusting my Jackson for lower action and have the strings at 2.5mm between the 12th and 13th frets. With the Jumbo frets that Jackson uses this puts them right on the deck with just a hint of buzz. This still seems high to me and is driving me crazy. I`m thinking that with the height of these frets, maybe I should just get used to it. OR... should I look into a fret leveling job and bring them down a bit??? been checking prices and wow is that pricey. The local shop that has done lot`s of work in the past for me, the owner retired and closed up. So now this has forced me to look elsewhere.
So should I just get used to it? Or look into getting the work done?

I have never had the chance to play a Hamer, but have been looking for an explorer with a Floyd, and am keeping an eye out for one because they are one of the few that produce one.

Whew hew!! I knew that would fire up the debates!!!!
The GT model with it`s "SG" neck is amazing and the slickest application for a hybrid blend I`ve ever laid my hands on. Damn I wished I knew someone that was selling one of those!!!!!
