I don't think people really care what I have to say but I wanted to put one last post out there on this subject.
I went through everything that I posted on this and there is some contradiction. First off, like everyone,
I was upset to hear about K.K.. My initial reaction was retirement. That stems more from fear
of seeing them become a mockery of themselves than from K.K. retiring. I don't want them to retire but I would
rather see that than them embarassing themselves. Secondly I think people that want an explanation deserve one.
Wouldn't an explanation eliminate all these assumptions, rumors, and falsehoods? Then after such I think
people should put all this aside (arguing). K.K. is gone, freakin' deal with it. (however that may be) I also think
that it's funny that a majority of the people that abandoned Priest after Rob left want people to give Richie a chance.
Fuck Ripper but let's support
I supported Ripper and I'll support Richie and I'll base how I feel about the (new) Priest after I hear it.
Lastly all the people that are angry that other's don't share their belief. It's a big world, that will never happen.
Whether you are O.K. with this situation or not you don't get to decide how everyone else should feel about it. We feel the
way (we) choose to not how (others) do. It's silly to argue what you believe others should think. Support Priest if you choose,
if not then so be it. There is no right or wrong here.

Supernaut1968 I apologize if I've upset you,but for you to say that "Glenn Tipton can easily be replaced by a half dozen decent guitarits" is ludichrist, sure its your opinion but its utterly false.  I along with others don't think we "own the place",you are welcome here just as anybody else is,but making a comment/opinion like this is setting yourself up for critisism, how could it not and none of us in here are "fanboys"...

Fanboy= "sombody who thinks the band can do no wrong and everything they do is top notch ect..." None of us are like this in here.  I'm just irritated by these fans complaining about the band moving on without K.K.

I challenge these people to listen to this next album from Judas Priest and post the same things they are posting now about how they band should just retire...I challenge them big time, there are going to be alot of people eating thier words this time next year without'll see...just wait and see.....

JD Diamond, why are you taking my comments so personally, they are only my opinions. If you don't agree, that's fine, but don't be so offensive. I used to come on this forum regularly a few years ago but left because certain people used to think they owned the place and just flamed everyone who had a different opinion.

I see things haven't changed much.

I get it now. I found what you were talking about. You quoted the wrong post.
I was still angry about K.K. and it kills me how much people rip Demolition so I was using
that as an excuse to vent.  I even noticed what I was doing and commented on it. I also see
from your last post that we share many similar beliefs about the current Priest.

OK, now that I`ve had the time to calm down, here`s my take and I don`t really give a shit if any part time or un fans want it or not. I have believed in this band since 1980, I was 15 and they helped keep me out of trouble by inspiring me to play my guitar, not be out and into things I shouldn`t be into.
Yes, it sucks that KK has retired, he was my personal favorite, so I will continue to support these guys through what ever the hell they throw at us. Been checking out Faulkner, the guy fucking shreds, no lack of talent here at all.
Now I`m even more curious to see them just to hear how well he gels with Glenn.
My only hope is he doesn`t use those damn Peavey amps he`s been playing, Marshall`s are what forged the Priest sound, and before anybody corrects me, yes , I know Glenn is using Engl these days.
So here`s to the Mighty Priest and to Faulkner, may they forge a new path of old school British Metal!

I'm sorry man but I'm lost. I read my post and then seareched for your's to see
if it was a response to you. I don't think that was an angry post and I couldn't find your's
so if you interpreted that as angry it was not directed at you.  I was saying that I lost interest
in caring about the split but if people felt the need to know I believe Priest does owe an
explanation. I'll buy the album and I'll go to the show and I'll base how I feel on that. If
it sucks(cd) I'll stop buying their music. (I'll steal it.) If the show isn't up to par then I'll have
seen my last Priest concert. It's that simple. I still love them and hold no animosity towards K.K..
I have posted on this 4 or 5 times and I (think) in every one I wished him the best.
Take care man. Peace!

I've been a fan since 1981 when I was 11 years old and first saw the Heading Out To the Highway video. They have been my favorite band since,I awaited the release of Screaming For Vengeance in 1982 when I was 12,and bought every album since so yes I'm a long time fan.  Supernaut1968.....Judas Priest aren't trying to gain any new fans, they are continueing because of fans like me,spapad,Guido,Hellrider,Becks,HRMG and others.

For fans like you and our beloved own Deep Freeze and others the band has been put to rest and buried.  And absolutely untrue that Glenn would be easier to replace, both K.K. and Glenn are extremely hard to replace and in my opinion both have a signature guitar sound that makes Judas Priest.   If Glenn left I'd say the same thing here.

You think Glenn Tipton could be replace by "any half decent guitar players? Are you fucking kidding me here supernaut1968?  Sorry but that is the most stupid comment I have EVER heard at this forum the 6 years I've been here!   Name me one guitar player that could "replicate" Glenn's signature sound? Pssssft please, what a fucking "joke".

K.K.'s signature guitar sound can't be replaced either without sounding altered to some point.  That is "fine" with us fans that want the band to continue. This is not fine for you and other fans. So be it. Nobody is forcing you to show up here. Nobody is forcing you to go to the show. Nobody is forcing you to get excited about a new album and nobody is forcing you to buy the new album.

For you supernaut1968 Judas Priest is "dead". So be it. Move on,maybe pay $60.00 bucks a year and go to the Maiden forum.  Go to a different metal forum if it bothers you this bad. Quit listening to Judas Priest all together or just listen to the albums that make you happy.

Whatever floats your boat here,I don't give a shit. This new era of Judas Priest is NOT FOR YOU and many others,we get that but us fans of the band right now don't care because this new chapter of Judas Priest is for "US" not you.  Again, sorry for the loss of your band, but we are awaiting a new style without K.K. and a new "real" heavy metal album without K.K. so be it.

There is no need for people to keep bitching about K.K. leaving,he is not coming back and Priest isn't quitting, they are moving forwards and K.K. is staying home. So what.

And  you say Glenn could be easily replaced by half decent guitar players? Yeah fucking right...pssssft fucking joke, thats the most idiotic statement I've ever heard about Judas Priest period.

And the new album won't have K.K.'s signature guitar style that helped create the sound of Judas what?

We are waiting for a "new sound" with Tipton and Faulkner and a new sound that a studio album will sound like,so what?  I'd rather have Richie Faulkner on a new "real heavy metal oldschool album" than to have K.K. on another "Nostradamus".   I'm willing to bet right now that the majority of fans will like the new album next year better than the nostradamus album with K.K......we'll wait and see.

JD Diamond, I don't know know what type of fan you're referring to, but at this stage in their career, Priest aren't likely to gain many new ones. I've been a fan of Priest since 1979 and seen all of their tours since 1981 onwards (UK tours that is) and while the band have made some errors along the way, I did stick with them.

This latest issue has been handled badly by all sides and given the amount of experience with the group and their management, you'd think they could have done alot better.

Another point I wanted to address was the popularity of KK, whilst we're all going to have different opinions on this, for me, KK summed up all that was great about the band. Foe me, Glenn would be much easier to replace as his playing style could be replicated by any half decent metal player.

As I've already stated, I've followed the band for over 30 years and the Epitaph tour would have been a fitting end to the group, but even this was somehow messed up.

Oh well....

[Leather Devil] Tuesday, April 26, 2011 8:16:17 AM
Well, Bud, I can read you felt angry, and maybe about my message ? I really don't know why, because we are exactly feeling the  same actually. Except you like something on an album that I dont ? Well it doesn't matter. I also felt a bit angry because of Priest's and KK's behaviour about this split. (why did they not speak about it ealier ?? Damned ! it's a pure lie by ommission ! )
Like you, Before this announcement, I felt the timing was perfect : a last tour while they still can (if they still can, that's what we'll soon check it out) and a retirement from the spotlights. All  in dignity. And then, an album for the diehards, another way to say goodbye. why not if they still had good ideas ?
Even if Actually, I don't expect anything from a new studio material, for reasons i explained upper, and because I think they don't have anything more to prove. They did their job, they did it perfectly, they became the Metal Gods, so what else ?
For me, the priority was the tour. And I can't understand why they quarrelled about something else which  jeopardized the tour. I can't think that KK left for futile things. KK's life turned around Priest, and he kept the band alive for so many years... I read somewhere on his blog he was in late in working on this new album, because he was enjoying to have some rest, and because, if I remember well, he was thinking same way : priority for the epitaph.
Well, I exepected more cleverness  from this band. I didn't expect more frustration from them. I think we fans deserved one more and last effort, one more compromise.
Saying that, I know the show will be ok, it can't be other way, they are professionnal and they are the best. But it won't be the same. The music will be there, but the show won't be entire , in my opinion.
You don't have to be old to be wise, they used to say. Now it's more like "that's not because you're old, than you're wise..."

Sorry couldn't disagree more!!!

KK is NOT the most popular member of the band.

And you are making it seem as if the band is going to fail with out him.

Perhaps you forgot Rob leaving????  The band (while not as popular and the material quality was debatable) carried on and toured for years.

Personally (just me not you) I would feel a LOT MORE devastated if Glenn left!!!!

KK best wishes.

Richie = NEW LIFE to our favorite metal band and will bring new METAL RIFFS!!

Again just me.

Well, they continued on without Rob in the '90s and I personally think that Rob is the most popular member of the band. This is a group of 5 people. They will not always agree on everything. It's like a marriage or any other type of relationship - you must compromise. So I'm not buying this idea that everyone agreed on Nostradamus. Let's not forget, Ian Hill is also a founding member of Judas Priest. If Ian wants to continue without KK, then that is his right to do so, along with the other remaining members of the band. Obviously KK was the only one ready to retire which is his decision to make. The rest of the band is carrying on whether some people like it or not. I want a KICK ASS HEAVY METAL album!!! If they can't make one without KK, then I welcome new blood that will help deliver that to all the fans that still believe in Judas Priest. I'm sorry you feel the way that you do. I don't think it's Priest either without KK, just as it wasn't Priest without Rob. But they survived then and they will survive now.

And you have every right to think this way.  However, your not going to get what you want becasue the rest of the band are not walking away. This year 2011 belongs to the new Judas Priest and another chapter in thier career with Richie Faulkner no matter how long it lasts. They are moving forwards.

There will be no K.K.  on tour or no K.K. on the next album For those that are bothered so bad by this then nobody is forcing you to still come to the forum, nobody is expecting you to buy the next record.  So they scammed thier fans out of ticket sales knowing K.K. wasn't going to be what?  Yes they suck at management skills and they are guilty of this and that.So what?

If it bothers you that bad and everybody else for that matter try and sell the ticket,if not then chalk it up as a loss and forget about Judas Priest all together. The band is moving forwards not for you type of fans and I do respect your opinion, but they are moving forwards for the fans that want to hear them make another album and yes without K.K.

It will still have Rob Halford Glenn Tipton,Ian Hill and Scott Travis on the album and I'm 100% sure this album will thrill the fans that want the band to continue, this era is for us and I'm sorry for your loss of the band.

For what it's worth, I don't think carrying on without KK is a good idea, he's a founder member of the band and also probably the most popular.

I'd managed to talk quite a few people into seeing Priest one last time, and these are friends who had seen the band numerous times throughout the late 70s and early 80s.

However, when the news about KK broke, not one of them still wanted to go. We'd held back from buying our tickets until the end of this month and looks like we've saved some money.

I don't know where this idea that KK was to blame for Nostrodamus comes from, but whether or not the album was any good, rests on the shoulders of all 5 band members. If any one of them didn't like it, they could have spoken up. Also, it doesn't quite fit with the image of KK (and the content of his own website) to insist that they make an album that isn't "metal" or "Priest".

There's something not quite right about selling the tickets for the farewell tour in these circumstances and if I'd bought tickets, I'd be asking for my money back. JP have a long standing, poor record of dealing with their UK fans especially and the handling of this latest problem doesn't exactly cover anyone in glory.

The band need to be dignified and call an end to this now and walk away.

[J.D. DIAMOND] Tuesday, April 26, 2011 3:50:49 AM
For those who claim this is not Priest without K.K.....good for you guys,I fully understand. But like spa and HRMG and others have said this is "our favorite band" and we are craving real "metal" music from this band, and with K.K. lingering on to the band any longer would of held them back, forced them all into retirement or put out another "melow" album like Nostradamus was. If this is the only way to get a real british heavy metal album before they compleately retire than "so be it".

We all know that this next album will not be able to top 5 or 6 classic albums, but so what. It could mend in and be better than the rest of Priest's discography. I'd rather have a chance at another Priest studio album without K.K. than nothing at all leaving the contraversial Nostradamus being thier last studio album.  I'm glad Rob,Glenn and Ian decided to move forwards with Priest.

Just wait until the new album is out,it may suprise a few people and make them eat thier words. Rob and Glenn aren't stupid, they know the steaks are high and they know they have to deliver a classic normal sounding hard heavy metal album this time around and I really think they are going to stun a few people into keeping the faith a few years longer.
[Head banger] Monday, April 25, 2011 10:58:05 PM
I certainly appreciate the music and the 40 years plus.
I dont think that he or the band owes us anything, and I hope that with the new guy they crank out some great stuff.  I will go see them.  I do think that if they could have done so they should have anounced the separation prior to selling concert tix.  some people will not want to see them after separating.
