Rob may not be able to do what he did 20 years ago but has anyone heard what he can still do. I posted a video from the
December Cleveland show of "Resurrection". Listen to it and check out the highs. Rob can still do it.

Ppl who expect others to do the same shit 20 years ago exactly are unreal.
Priest has been taking risks trying new styles even though they knew lots of diehards go against them.
Even transitions from Rocka Rolla to Sad Wings Of Destiny is a huge difference. It was like that from the very beginning.
The guys do whatever they feel like doing. Rob sings the ways he wants to do and he's still confident with his voice according to many interviews.

Those who have so many doubts about JP, they're just general fans of metal/hardrock.
Believing in their favorite band rather than disbelieving in the band is what diehards do.

I prefer current Rob to Rob at younger ages coz he's been working decade after decade to deserve the nickname, "The Metal God."
Looking forward to the next new works by the Metal Gods!

Rob has a FANTATSIC metal voice(as we all know)  and on record he can pull it off but live (five night's a week) im not sure he can pull it off.

Let's get things straight...Rob and the rest of the guys don't owe metal anything!! and there is no shame in accepting the fact that Rob is no longer able to do what he could 20yrs ago, it stands to reason,
the guy is almost 60!

As is everyone on this site i am glad JP are working on new songs :-) i hope its a full length album and not just a few track's to go on a forthcoming 'Best Of' cd but i guess any new material is better than none at all.

I think Priest are at their best when they put light and shade in to their recordings and i would prefer this to an album full of tracks going 100 mph from start to fiinish.
I would be happy to see them go in the direction of AOR but maybe with a better production (not Roy Z), there are a few producers out there at the mo who could do a good job or maybe The band will do it? Nostradamus was a good sounding record despite what people think of the song's ( though i really like'd em).

Priest don't usually make the same record twice so i expect the new stuff to be different to Nostradamus.

Just had a terrible thought ...what if they come out with "Nostradamus 2 - The Lost Prophecies"  ...

I like more the ultragresive sound they had when they made the jugulator, i like when they compose with the darkest sound posible, like in the song painkiller and demonizer they are the best at making songs that make you feel like you are powerfull, specially when you play covers with your band  all my friends that hear judas priest because of me like it because those songs that are totally evil

I must say, Rob's Italian pronunciation in the chorus of Pestilence and Plague is awesome!!!  I can't wait for another album - maybe something more along the lines of DOTF or Screaming or  Painkiller, for all us metal-adrenaline junkies out there....whatever they put out I will support the guys, regardless.  They've provided their fans with some of the best music ever written or performed.  Whether or not Nostradamus is a 'fan favourite' is neither here nor there, JP has always given 110% in all and any efforts.  Even if this was it, they'd still go down in history as the greatest metal band THAT EVER FREAKING EXISTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Budred] Saturday, January 29, 2011 4:38:18 AM
I think the thing the turned me off before I even listened to it was the subject of the concept. I think(my opinion) that
Nostradamus is a joke and I don't understand how anyone can buy into that crap. He didn't predict anything. Everything
he said had to be interpreted. When that happens you can make believe with a little imagination and false interpretation
that he could tell the future. There is no such thing as psychic powers. Not a single person has "ever" proven that they had
powers. I thought writing about the "Loch Ness Monster" was the dumbest thing Priest ever wrote until Nostradamus. I'm
glad Priest changes it up with every album but Nostradamus wasn't a change it was a departure. Not even close to Priest.
It is boring, too slow, and probably the worst Halford has sounded on a Priest album. It's funny how "Demolition" is ripped
here for being too different from other Priest efforts yet "Nostradamus" is applauded for it. At least "Demolition" is a
metal album.
Man I hope the new album is metal. In the words of Rob Halford, "Judas Priest Heavy Metal!!!"

yes Nostradamus is a great album. But it is definately not the best concept album ever. Have you ever heard the crimson idol by wasp, or operation mindcrime by queensryche? Those are in my opinion the best concept albums ever written. I agree Nostradamus is probably better than 7th son cause I never really got the story behind 7th son. But it is not the best concept album ever

Well said JT! I agree with everything you said. I think Nostra was brilliant and they did what they set out to do with it. I skip around as well when I listen to it now though. My favorite is Sands of Time/Pestilence and Plague. The first time I heard it, those songs just called out to me. I love the way Rob sings Future of Mankind - straight from the heart. I think after a new album, people will appreciate Nostra more. It was just too far away from what some people want from Priest to be accepted immediately and it makes them question if they can still produce top notch heavy metal. I don't doubt for a second that the new album will be another fantastic metal album! I'm so excited about it. I can't wait until it's released so that I can blast it! And yes, please Priest, unleash Scott on us once again and up the bass a bit too

I said from the begining that NOS is a Masterpiece. You have to take it for what it is. A "Concept Album" and the best one I have ever heard, beats 2112 and 7th son.

Future of Mankind is fantastic! One of my favorites off Nostradamus! Really heavy riffs and the solos are incredible.

Yeah with Nostradamus it's not an album I can slap on and listen to all of the way through even though that is how I first listened to it because I was told that is how it should be listened to.

Now if I put it on I skip the preludes and some main tracks unless it's the couple I really really like and there are some.

The tracks I listen to always: Dawn of Creation/ Prophecy (together it has to be done), Revelations, Death, Pestilence and Plague, Peace/ Conquest, Persecution, Solitude, Alone, Visions, Nostradamus, Future of Mankind.

For me that would have done it, that would have passed as a good solid metal album to me as they are pretty strong tracks in my eyes.

I'm surprised that Future of Mankind is so overlooked by people it's a really underated track with some really heavy riffs and a perfectly written chorus even on Rob's standards it breaks the mould.

But anyways on topic now, to me this is the best news in the world the thought of Priest writing another fantastic heavy metal album is all the motivation I need. I would even settle for something along the lines of Angel of Retribution because to me that was a cracking album. Not one bad song on it not even Loch-Ness I bloody love that song, so heavy.

So yeah all they need to do is up their game again and restore freedom to Scott Travis's phenominal drumming because the drummng on Painkiller and especially Jugulator was jaw dropping and on Nostradamus it was too basic for my liking. Edited at: Friday, January 28, 2011 7:45:07 AM
