For those who haven't heard this, this is Roberto Savegnago from Italy..."Redeemer"

I think is the "best cover" of Victim Of Changes I have ever heard in the 30 years I've been into Judas Priest. God damn this guy's voice is so perfect for a Halford cover,I really think this guy is better than Ripper Owens,Priest should of got this guy instead.  Hey Roberto...if your still out there I'm still giving this cover crdit man,it fucking rules....and at the 2:33 mark......god damn!!!!!!

Rob, if you are truly interested in getting some feedback that will help you, I suggest you become a member of Acid Planet. It is a site for musicians where you can post your songs and receive in-depth reviews by fellow artists. You will get the kind of feedback that you can actually use, rather than a lot of "oohs" and ahs". Not that getting this kind of recognition is bad but, if you really want to grow as a musician and see where you stand in the industry, your best bet is to start putting some of your work there and have other talented musicians hear it and comment. Especially your original material, if you have any. It will not always be a "pat on the back" but you will receive honest opinions by people that really know music. I think you are certainly talented and you will get some GREAT guidence over there.

If you are interested, please send me a PM and I will explain further. The site is run by Sony Records and there are many, many very good contacts there from all over the world. You will get a much better feel where you stand, not just vocally but production-wise and composition- wise. The musicians there review more than just your vocal ability. They review your writing, mixing, etc. It is well worth it, man.

Dear metallers, I'd need some helps from you all:

1) As many links as possible about metal websites where to post my website link, to download the album and to promote it.

2) Links about sites where to upload the songs or the entire album.

Thanks a lot

PS: Website is at 50%...

My friend, chances are they have or will hear it.  They do hear them, believe it or not. In fact, that hear thousands and thousands of them. It is really nothing new to them. Suffice it to say you are one of many, MANY people that have done a cover or two. It is a wonderful rendition, to be sure. Very well done, indeed.

Hi metallers!!
Who knows if it would be possible for Priest to listen to my cover?
I think it would be a good Christmas gift for them and also I guess they appreciate it!!

But I'm new in this forum and I cannot contact them...
I just need to give them this link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtOFsHa108k

Who could help me?
[rob_redeemer_ita] Sunday, January 03, 2010 11:07:51 AM
Ciao guys and happy new year!!
I've just come back from few "beer days" in Innsbruck and I'm happy to see that topic has collected so much friendly compliments (also on youtube the video collected 146 visualizations!!!).

Dear HOT ROCKIN' METAL GODDESS, thanks a lot for your praises, just today I started to build a website that let you contact me, see some picture and download my CATERPILLAR album. Do you all think that a forum could be needed to excange opinions or is it useless? Maybe structured as a guestbook...

I think HRMG that Ripper has been the perfect solution for Priest band of those years: I guess infact that choosing a voice too similar to Rob's could have sprung too much complainings like "Rob is only one" or "No one can be as Halford" or "This f****ng singer wants to be as halford, but he can't be compared with him" etc
Even if I personally don't like Ripper and also Priest songs of those years, I guess that Priest did with Ripper what Iron did with Blade: different kind of singers respect to previous ones and maybe the far-sightedness to think that the new singer could has sung for the band for just a period and after that period, maybe a reunion could have been done...

Thanks again Diamond and scthree05! I'm proud you to like so much also instruments used in the song.
My drummer and bass player (just a pc software) are thanking you, eheh!
I'm also proud to had my ex guitar player Tapevil for song solos.
Diamond, I think that CATERPILLAR TO SOMEWHERE IN WEB is a beautiful idea, but I already done the CD cover ... maybe another good idea would be CATERPILLAR: UNLEASHED IN THE WEB, eheh!!

Dear spapad where are you from? There is a couple problem 'cause I cannot (at the moment) sing Painkiller:
1) I left my old band MenacE in 2003; during all theese years I had many things to do, so I could write just this album (I finished to record it about in 2006)... so I'm not seriously singing for about 4 years and I'd need vocal training before record such frightening song (I'm trying to find out some people that could help me in a Judas Priest  cover band project, so I can restore my vocal chords ;P)
2) I'm not able to play that song with guitars (I'm talking about solos) and unfortunately I don't know any guy that's able to play it quite well and to record the tracks to the pc.
If these two problems will be solved, I'll try to record Painkiller for sure!!

Hey Rob,I have to admit a name for a heavy metal album such as "Caterpillar to somewhere in web" has to be the most bizzare, oddest name for a "heavy metal" album I've ever heard. How did this title strike you so much as to name a studio album after it? Just wondring, this threw me off a bit.

Rob, if  it were not for the subtle differences in accent, I would not be able to tell the difference between your voice and  Rob's voice. You have the same tone as him and yes, it did give me chills!   Incredible voice! Now, will you please do Painkiller so we can all just drop dead from Awe? Wow, you have a great voice. The guitars were not as tight as they could have been so truely it's your voice that carries that song. Congrats on being blessed with such a sound, and thank you for sharing this with us!

I can't agree with you more HRMG,the majority of so called "metal" bands dress like fuckin skate boarders: Baggy droppy pants,or shorts, white tube socks and sneakers, baseball jerseys and baseball hats. This makes me sick to my stomach.True metal aesthetics should be black leather, denim jean jackets with band patches and studs on them, black leather jackets, denim & leather, spikes, gauntlets, studs, chains, black cloths, black gloves, bullet belts,non-baggy cloths, total "metal" philosophy. This is what ALL so called "metal" bands should be wearing. These young lazy lame kids of today starting "metal" bands look like they belong in Limp Biscuit or some shit like that, its a pathetic joke to say the least here.I'm so fed up with this crappy non-metal image I can throw up.

Every time someone says hey J.D. check this metal band out...so I do and what do I see even before I hear it? I see baseball hats, baseball or sports jerseys and shorts & sneakers!! If I want to see that I will go to a "baseball game" for christ's sake ya know?  It just sickens me to the max,and I'm just tired of seeing all this non traditional bullshit.

Thats why I'm giving hails to Rob here from Italy and his old and new band's image, this is what it should be like,I took a look at his photos and they "look metal",this guy knows what its all about. No,having a metal image doesn't write good metal songs but it sure as hell help to do so I know that for a fact. So when people show me a "metal band" I look at thier "image" first off, because thier image will tell me leaps and bounds about what I'm going to hear.

And yes I've heard lots of lame bands "with a true metal image" yes I have and again an image doesn't write good metal, but without it a band doesn't stand a chance in hell to write a great "metal" album. The metal comes out like the artist dresses 9 times out of 10. So having a metal image is the first thing a metal band should do for themselves.

Without this true image, bands are drifting further and further away from that as possible as you said HRMG,and its true. So I'm pretty much fed up with these lazy lame kids of today creating metal bands with a rap artist's image or a skate boarder's image, its fucking lame and you'd think by now these idiots would get a clue about metal's true aesthetics, but they don't and keep putting out boring lame tunnel hat bullshit, its fuckin "sad".

Oops, sorry Jimmy and J.D.  I should say that I agree with you both 100%. The image has always been very important to me - leather, studs, boots. When you saw that you knew it was metal. Todays bands seem to want to move as far away from that as possible. I'm so glad you kept the image Rob! And your voice is incredible, so much better than what Ripper did. You have that same tone as Halford and at times you sounded just like him to me. I always thought Ripper's voice was kind of rough (I don't know how else to explain it). great job rob! back in my younger days a good friend of mine and i used to try to play this song. we could never get the guitars nearly as tight as your band and of course singers with the skills to do this song aren't very common. congrats!

Actually it was Jimmy that said that about Ripper Owens HRMG,but I DO AGREE with you here, this guy blows Ripper Owens out of the freakin' water man,and I love how he used reverb and delay on some of those high notes,it compliments this song very much, and an A++ grade in my book, from the drums,guitars,vocals,dynamics...this cover of  Victim Of Changes is totally excellent Rob,and thank you for wearing leather studs and spikes too!!!! lol!!

Thank you so much, guys!!

I guess the harder thing I had to handle during the recording of this cover have been the maintenance of full respect to Priest and to honor their Heavy Metal philosophy, but preserving my personality into the song.

Yesterday night I almost finished the final mastering of all the songs included in my album (called CATERPILLAR, ndr) and after deserved vacation I will built REDEEMER website, where eveyone can download that album and look for some pictures about me and my old band MenacE (if you are interested also about Menace I could send you our 2005 album QUAKE METAL for free, just to let the MenacE spreading all over the world...) .

Yes I agree. Yeah its very important to "dress metal" while in a band, promo pictures, magazine articles,CD booklets, anywhere where there is a photo of the band, the band should look metal 95% of the time. The other 5% of the time is back stage pictures ect..where bands like Priest are in street cloths, which is no problem ect..but anytime we see the actual band, they should be decked out in leather and studs ect...all bands should ya know.

[rob_redeemer_ita] Tuesday, December 29, 2009 6:02:23 PM
Yes Diamond, I fully agree with you!!
I was just meaning that is easier to "dress" metal instead of "be" metal..

As you can see from the pictures I used to eat bolts and to dress in black leather, but when I started to live back that aesthetic status (just due to my job) I realized that metal was continuously living and spreading itself into me, even if I wasn't dressing in metal style.

I think to have passed in a more intimate metal status, far away from the will to show that I'm a rocker... I understand to be a rocker inside!!
As Halford says: I'm a rocker, it's something in my blood!!
[J.D. DIAMOND] Tuesday, December 29, 2009 5:40:22 PM
Oh in my opinion:  "IT IS IMPORTANT TO PARADE THE METAL FLAG" rob.Yes metal lives in the heart and soul, but metal's aesthetics are just as important as it's music,it keeps the "spirit" of metal alive no matter how many posers out there look like a skate board band,a true heavy metal image is very important for a metal band,it says alot about a band and what they stand for. Having an image doesn't make good metal music,it helps to create the vibe and again it harnesses the "spirit" of tradition that has been handed down to our generation from the Metal Gods.

Just like Country music's aesthetics are blue jeans, belt buckles, cowboy hats and button shirts,ect...its a total "cowboy image" and even though I HATE country,at least they have always have had an image and aesthetics for thier genre of music, same goes with metal music....its about denim & leather,non-bagy jungle cloths, normal fit cloths, black, studs, bullet belts, black boots, spikes, head banging attitides, denim jackets with band patches on them...this is "us" metalhead's image. Not every "fan" has to dress up like this, but the majority of fans still do and I think its awsome!! But I do believe ALL metal bands should harness this image with tradition and respect, this is heavy metal aesthetics and it all came from Rob Halford and Judas Priest!

And this song is just coming from there, my friend!!!

Great cover man,and the "image" is absolutely "CORRECT". Black leather, studs spikes, old school denim & leather clad image man, this is what ALL metal bands should look like!!
