In my opinion Judas Priest and Rob Halford have been heading in the wrong direction and need to turn things around quickly. Nostradamus and christmas songs just don't cut it.  Whats happened to these guys? Tell you the truth I'm getting tired of waiting for a good metal cd from these guys. Anyone else feel this way? Whats going on here?

Cool, right on JayDee. Its always cool to hear something you like thats brand new. I envy those who love the Nostradamus album because its new Judas Priest,I wish the album had the same

effect on me because I love it when I find something I really like. 99% of members here seem to like Nostradamus a little bit better with each listen, but I've heard it "MANY" times and with each

listen for me it gets "worse". But at the same time I realize it is a well put together epic album thats put together very professionally, just not to my likings. The same thing is going on with these 2

Halford tracks,so I won't be looking forwards to hearing the entire thing, some day I'll get around to it!! But I am glad there are members who do like this album and these 2 songs so far. Rob is

truely amazing and even if the album isn't my cup of tea or anywhere near my ballpark,I still realize that Rob is a very talented musician and the "METAL GOD" of course!!! Long live ROB!!!

I've listened to "get into the spirit" 3-4 times now and I'm digging it more and more. It's sounds very much Halford band metal and nothing of a 'christmas song'...Ironically I could see myself getting pumped for some x-mas shopping just listening to that song...
I encurage those to have another listen...maybe many.:)  It's a grovin song!!

I think I may be the only one who is confused and scratching my head over this Halford 3 is just too "odd" for my brain to accept I think.....but hails to Rob anyways!

HAAAAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice, geeds....

Yeah Necro, those memories are very special. There are songs that really bring home the holidays for me and with the internet, I can youtube ANY song I want and listen so I need not go buy CDs and whatnot that will only be used for a short time. I usually set up the speakers I have and just youtube requests from my family throughout the day. Makes hearing the special songs SO easy!

I also listened to We Three Kings and Get Into the Spirit. They are OK by me. I enjoy just about anything Rob does. Having said that, I am also a HUGE fan of traditional Christmas music. There is a reason it remains so popular. For me, it reminds me of younger days. Family together for the holidays. Members of the family that have long since passed. The excitement and wonder of Christmas morning as a young boy.

There are memories that the holidays bring. Memories of a far different time. The old classics like White Christmas (Crosby) and Oh Holy Night (Goulet) will always be very special to me and will always be playing in my house in December. I cannot imagine a holiday season without them! I think it is great that Rob decide to do something like this...He thinks "outside the box", as it were. I will certainly enjoy his offering but the chances of his version playing on Christmas morning are rather remote, if only that the rest of the family would likely not enjoy it. Besides, they hear me doing music EVERYDAY. HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor folks, they need a little break.

I love the idea of a metal Christmas album and I really like how Rob did We Three Kings. But I have to admit, I would have really liked a brand new Halford album along the lines of Crucible. At this point in Rob's career, I think he should be allowed to do the things he has always wanted to do - and he said that he always wanted to do Christmas songs. He's probably too busy with everything going on with Priest to be able to sit down and write an entire album with the guys. And of course he did promise Priest that his solo stuff would not interfere with Priest. I just hope we get another real Halford album at some point. But I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of the CD and crankin' it up during the holidays! It will sure beat the stuff I hear in the stores from October until Christmas!

I listened to both We Three Kings and Get into the Spirit.  I like 'em both but have to say Get into the Spirit is more Halfordesque and in some parts, please forgive my inability to technically decribe which parts, rings of Hellrider and Starbreaker, if that is possible - lol Can't wait to hear the CD in its entirety also!

I agree with Mr. Diamond. I'm a little confused by the nature of the cd but so far it seems to rock and has the potential to grow on me, which is to say I'm curious to hear the rest of the cd.  I'd like to have others offer some feedback after a few listens.

Finally, I can have a METAL Christmas! Maybe I should post this in the confessional, but..... ever since I was about 5 years old, it's been a tradition to listen to "Christmas with the Chipmunks" while we decorate the tree. I know.... I know.... but what can I say? Now I can start a NEW tradition with my boys and we can have a METAL Christmas. But those Chipmunk songs will never leave my head I'm afraid, but maybe I can save my 2 sons from the same fate!
