How DARE you malign the man who won the Nobel Peace Prize!

Now don't call me a hater but I only ask: WHAT THE HELL DID HE DO?!?!?! This simple act of giving it to him has lowered the esteem I used to have for the Nobel Prize to no end. Pitiful. I hope someone can explain it to me.

surrounded by bankers...
reinstated the patriot act, gave trillions to bankers without a payback plan, wants a civilian military guard, trillions missing from reserves (federal reserve is NOT a section of the federal goverment), trillions missing from OUR goverment funds, given free entry into all access secret societies, etc...
he continues agenda of george bush and those crooked neo-cons!!!

last 13 years proven president is just a figureead (ike a hood ornament)...

Well I don't agree. And you know what they say about opinions . Presidents have to listen to their advisors, staffs and so on and can only make a decision based on the info they are given. House and Senate have to pass bills and so forth to even get to the presidents desk . And again who has the control ? I'm not trying to change your mind but trying to be rational about it. I heard people saying the gas prices were sky high because Bush is an oil man , and Bush orchestrated the 9/11 attacks , without any valid proof I just think that is ridiculous.

I have to admit I am a Republican. I don't believe in socialism or spreading the wealth. Our country was made on free enterprise not some politician who taxes the shit out of us and spends our money to his benefit.  Thats all I have to say on this matter.
[J.D. DIAMOND] Wednesday, October 07, 2009 3:18:10 PM

HAHA well George W.Bush fucked up our economy ten times over you know it and I know it,I hate politics anyways and I am neither a republican or a democrat but I know as well as everybody that "W" fucked our economy up big time man,you just can't hide it anymore it just doesn't work like that these days. People can see right through it and it is a shame that he was in office for 8 straight years.   Fuck "dubya".

The only problem with your theory is during those times who controlled the house and senate ? The only reason clinton years were good was the republican "CONTRACT WITH AMERICA" I'm afraid the Dems had control for  2 of the last four years of Bush. Barney Frank and the sub prime lending really fucked up our country.

Now Clinton has free secret service/ health care for life and all he cared about was using cigars as dildos. WTF !!!!
[J.D. DIAMOND] Tuesday, October 06, 2009 3:46:23 PM

Well our economy is in the shitter and George W.Bush has been at the healm for 8 freaking straight doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out "who" fucked our economy up.

1980-1988 was Regan(republican)        1988-1992 was George Bush Senior.(republican)       1992-2000 was Clinton(democrat)              2000-20008 George W.Bush(republican).

So from 1980 to 2008 (thats 28 years) we have had republicans in office for 20 of the 28 years. So you can hardly blame the democrats for the economy...sorry Freeze!! HAHAHAH!!!

US politics is never discussed with an open mind and serious dissention from either party line is kept quiet.
[ProwlerCub] Tuesday, September 08, 2009 1:05:17 PM
I agree with you HB, guess I should have stated that.  Much like anything else, decisions are made given the information available at the time to try to solve a problem.  Whether they are good or bad cannot be seen for at least a few years.  All that can really be done is hope in the long run the decisions made will be for the positive instead of the negative.  Politics is such a touchy subject but always a good point for discussion as long as people are open-minded about it.

any leader trying to enact serious change will not see results for a long time.  wether they start from a good position or bad the changes take a long time.  at the presidential level changes to say the economy take years to have an effect.

Since I work in insurance I am interested in seeing how the whole healthcare reform works out.  Luckily I have a heavy claims background so I can go back to that if necessary. I feel Obama came into  such a huge mess that it is going to take a while to see how effective he is.

[Head banger] Monday, September 07, 2009 8:14:08 PM
the issue I have with canada (not that the US or any other place has a perfect system) is this
we claim that all are equal.  now we know that the true big wheels of govt and industry are more equal.  the super rich do beter.  I am fine with that.  but if your gonna pretend that its 1 tier and money or industry is no advantage and cant be used to buy an advantage then it should be so.  lets say I slip in my driveway and tear my MCL.  (some ligament in the knee).  I will limp around for 6 months before I see a specialist and get an apointment for surgery.
if I slip at work then I am on WCB and get seen in about 10 days.  if I was a pro hockey player I get seen tomorow and operated on the day the swelling goes down enough to do it.  thats treating everyone the same?  bullshit.

we focus so much on fixing, rather than prevention.  I work with a woman who needs a knee replacement.  she cant get an apointment because she has 10% cartilage left.  so she gets told she cant walk till her leg is worn out.  well if you cant walk its screwed, but leave her in pain for years tilll she can get on the list.

AAAAAaaaaaaaah gotcha, i thought you meant like everytime you go to any doctor. Honestly i don't understand the great hatred for the canadian way of medicine. I've been to the the hospital 3 times in my life for serious shit, once for a day surgery on my ribs, once for a teenage drug overdose( oh those stupid teen years) and the last for some pretty extreme surgery on my arm. Each and everytime i had no problem with anything. I may have waited a couple of hours but that was about it. I guess the complaints come more from seniors with cancer who have to wait a long time or seek medical attention in the states. I'd say our system needs a few fixes but overall id give it an 8 out of ten. Im very happy with our system.

private clinics are ilegal.  and if you want a different treatment you have to go to the states and pay for it yourself.  which is technicaly not permited.

i do believe alot of this is hype and rumor, probably started up by racist assholes who dont like the colour of his skin. What really grabbed me and made me think something different about him( until then i thought he was a perfect guy for pres, clear voice, head on his shoulders and america's best interests in mind) was i heard he was continuing the use of the patriot act.
By the way HB what are you talking about illegal to seek medical attention unless o.k.ed by the government?
[ron h] Monday, September 07, 2009 7:16:13 PM
Okay Dime, I'm posting after reading your entry w/o reading other posts so I'm not influenced in my opine...I think back to when Clinton was first elected (I did not vote for him) and all the so called "promises" he made.  When he arrived on Capitol Hill, he was taken aside by several incumbents from both parties and in so many words was told that they didn't care what he "promised to get here", but things worked a certain way and no one man was going to change that.  Well, it took awhile, but he was eventually able to do a lot of what he "promised"...for better or worse.  Nothing's different with Obama...same sh*t, different day!!

As far as church, birth certificate, free speech zones and the "leave America now"'s all just that.  Anyone can start a rumor and have it quickly spread, thanks in no small part to the Internet!!  DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!!!!

Americas problems run deep and change is not gonna happen over night or even in one or two terms...but there has to be a start.  Time will tell, not the short term.  Most (not all) of the crap being shoveled is being done by anti-dems/anti-Obama folk, it happens after every election.  Only folks with nothing better to do (or jobless folks for $20 a day) are shoveling this stuff and should be thought of accordingly.

Again, ONLY time will tell...and nothing else!!!

This is from a man who's proud to be an American and who's NOT running scared or is leaving this great country...EVER!!!

Dime/ UBRS
Look up the cold war, the people we put in place/ backed were generally the lesser of two evils, when compaired to those the Soviets backed :)

A  joke that sums up Obama:

A man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of
St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of
    clocks behind him.
He asked, 'What are all those clocks?'
St. Peter answered, 'Those are Lie-Clocks.
Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock.
Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move.
'Oh,' said the man, 'whose clock is that?'
'That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have
never moved, indicating that she never told a lie.'
'Incredible, ' said the man. 'And whose
    clock is that one?'
   St. Peter responded, 'That's Abraham
Lincoln 's  clock. The hands have
moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lies
in his entire life.'   ( Bullshit)
'Where's President Obama's clock?' asked the man.
Obama's clock is in Jesus' office.
He's using it as a ceiling fan.

Well thats honestly what im hoping for, a lot of bad things can be said about america, ironically most of it being in the last 50 years or so. Over throwing governments of foreign nations, instaling dictators and the whole Iraq situation comes to mind. I really think though that most americans are true blue, red and white. Americans have done many, many things to be proud of and to be patrotic about. The greatest in my opinion is your constitution, for being hundreds of years old the founding fathers of yours made a peice of paper that gave people born in that country the freedom to live their lives the way they feel. America was founded on the belief that people, not governments control people's destiny, it may have been a borrowed idea, but it is still one of the greatest to live by.
[spapad] Monday, September 07, 2009 6:35:12 PM
I assure you, the american people will not sit by and let our rights be striped from us. Many of us know what is going on and we will put forth our voice when it comes to infringing on our rights, I just wish, the people would come together for these points that are not so leathal. Voting in a govenerment is our duty, but this president truely came in to a place that was hostile in policy and much in debt, all not his fault, but it is up to him now, to try to turn the tide, and give the country more. He is between a Rock and and a hard Place as the outgoing president raped this country for all it was worth, and all his big corporate friends made Huge money off him, up to and including 9/11.

But u see that's what I mean, that should not be allowed to happen, u know why it happens? Greedy pricks with money, money changes everything, that is the true BS. It's unnerving also that a country that promotes freedom for 200 years and is now beginingg to do an about face and is slowly becoming a police state, all over the guise of terrorism, Hitler did the same thing, historic fact.

It doesn't matter, We the People has always been a fantasy anyway, as the "Electoral college" dicides the vote. We can vote, but just like what happened when Dubbuh got elected, can happen again. America by vote, chose Gore, but we got Bush. Does that make any sence to you?

DIME, I'm with Momo here! Just more bullshit the public at large was sold, and we just had to pick which candidate sucked less! With McCain, we woud have been screwed by carrying on GWB's poliicy, so we sought to change it.
Our quigmire with a new president, may cause problems, might not work, but certainly, could it get ANY WORSE than what Bush did to us? I think not. I hope big business is now out of big government at least. We shall see.

Ok ive been hearing about this stuff so often lately and talking about it that i was really curious about the metal community thoughts about this. I'm Canadian so i can't really have that much of an opinion on the guy, but from what i can tell he's been giving alot of false promises, and it seems as much as he said we was going to change the mess Bush left, that he is flip flopping on many of those promises.
The controversies about his birth certificate to to the lies about his church, its crazy because ive seen so much different opinions on the guy from him being the greatest man in recorded history to some going as far as saying that he is the Anti-christ.  Many americans i talk to are sure of some kind of revolution or civil war is in the near future.
I know this could have been left to the political thread, but i think this deserves a little more light than that. Rumors are getting crazier everytime i hear them. A friend showed me a video of supposed "death camps" being built in cities across the country. The video ends with a really big message "LEAVE AMERICA NOW!" I cant help but think this is just nuts trying to scare the crap out of gulible people, but at the same time certain things going on i can honestly say are kinda freaky. All citizens are going to have to go through military training for 3 months, mandatory? Free speech being limited to free speech "Zones" I really would like to know what some people think on this subject.
