I'm ready for these bad-boys to come back with a top notch cd in the Painkiller "swaqgger" style and shock everyone. It could very well happen like" SVF" after "Point of Entry" and mostly "Painkiller" after "Ram it Down" back in the day. Bring it on because its just about what everyone wants.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by hellrider 31038 from Friday, April 01, 2011 7:34:30 PM)

Ok Hellrider all jokes aside, how about a cross between All Guns Blazing and Hellrider(the song) and throw in a Freewheel Burning guitar tone for the new album!!!!!! Yeah I don't want another Painkiller because I do enjoy melodic stuff from Priest too but I sure wouldn't be complaining if every song was like this and was full of quality and identity! You rock Hellrider, and never forget it!!!!

Any Ideas? Sure...how about an album in the vien of the Mighty "Running Wild track"?? lol! I'd be stoked if they made an album that sounded like this!!!! Judas Priest heavy metal full on and in your face!!!!!   LOL!

Having just listened to Demonizaaaaaahhhhh for the billionth time (DAMN, that CRAAAAACK at the beginning makes my whole house shake when I turn on the subwoofer), I agree 100%. That is just one wicked cut.

I also argue that Persecution off of Nostra follows the same sort of formula as the title track to Painkiller itself. Blistering guitars, vocals and DRUMS! While I have come to expect the first two, Scott is just a master on this one. Bashing the hell out of the skins throughout but really catches my attention at the end. 5:21 into the song, to be exact. Subtle little rolls start right there through the "persecute, you defy / crucify!"

Yeah, I know. Another post for the "1000 ways to know.." thread = when you rip apart a JP song to isolate the very second that makes you want to jump out of your metal skin!

I agree head banger. And Spa,Oh I wasn't trying to sell them short or anything so I wasn't being negative I do agree with what you are saying,I don't think Angel Of Retribution is "watered down" but Hellrider and other people do. As we know and have said before the band created AOR in the vien that fits into Screaming For Vengeance and Defenders and were trying to add some other elements.

Ian said that the bass riff for Revolution was written in 78' during the Hell Bent For Leather sessions and really the song has that kind of vibe to it but some people think its "nu" metal or weak sounding although I'll admit it's not a brilliant track but it does sound to me like it could of easily fit on the HBFL album.

Demonizer and Hellrider could easily fit on the Painkiller album. I think that its hard for me to imagine an entire album in the vien of Painkiller,I think they would add songs in the style of Metal Gods,Some Heads Are Gonna Roll and Bloodstone too.

Of course if they made an entire albums worth of tracks like Painkiller that would RULE but If they made an album like Retribution but replace Revolution,Worth Fighting For,Angel and Lochness with 4 other tracks like Rapid Fire,All Guns Blazing,Freewheel Burning and Demonizer I would be happy.

they made a great disc with AOR.  didnt quite have the anger of painkiller but was great.  I agree with JD, the anger of painkiller might not be there but it could still be great.

Lets not sell 'em short until we hear it. I personally don't want Painkiller Mach ll. I want new Judas Priest music of which I know they can make.

Come on J.D. Does age matter? Have you watered down your tastes in the past 20 years? NO you have not, so what makes you think Priest is going to water down their next CD?

Ok, Nos was not what we wanted, but they are fully capable of delivering the goods! Now they have Nos out of their system,  which  was not a tragedy, we can expect, some good solid  metal. The likes of which will blow us away.

Yeah but when they were in the writting sessions for Painkiller they were all 38 years old ect... Glenn will be 63 by the time the new album is out,I don't think they meant to "go soft" on the Angel Of Retribution album I just think that is basically as heavy as they can get at age 60 but I can be wrong.

I just don't think at 60 years old K.K. Glenn or Rob have the "anger" inside them to unleash something as powerful as Painkiller. I think alls that is left in the tank is a style like Riding On The Wind or The Sentinal, not Painkiller and Metal Meltdown,I think they are too old to create new songs as heavy and as angry as these tracks but thats my opinion,we'll see when the LP is out.

I WOULD PROBABLY ENJOY IT AS I GET SO MUCH OUT OF THE MAJOR MAJORITY OF THE BACK CATOLOG. BUT THE HARDER HITTING INTENSE METAL OF THE MIGHTY PAAAAAAAAAAAAAINKILLLLLLLLLLLLLLER ALBUM DOES THE ABSOLUTE MOST FOR ME PERSONALLY.THEY REALLY SHOWED US WHAT THEY COULD DO.WOW MAN.HOOOOLLLLYYYY FUUUUCCC??????.THEY HAVE TO GIVE US SOME MORE NOT GO BACKWARDS.OTHERWISE ITS LIKE A BIG TEASE.AND IT CAN MAKE THE BAND LOOK LIKE THEY ARE GOING SOFT

There is only one painkiller and there shall be no other. I'm sure they can deliver an album that envokes it but is not it, perhaps even better.  My opine for what it's worth.

Hellrider although I don't care for the album when you found out that the "Made Of Metal" LP  wasn't hard hitting/pounding like Painkiller you still managed to enjoy the record, and "IF" Priest's next LP isn't as heavy as Painkiller but still is filled with quality songs I'll bet you'll find a way to enjoy it.
