That's the good thing about being Catholic from the Eastern rite.  We like a little red wine with our prayers LOL.  Helps to wash away the guilt!
[heimda11] Thursday, October 06, 2011 5:55:12 PM
Yeah, I talk like a badass but spend much of my time trying to get better at praying.
[metalgodess] Thursday, October 06, 2011 9:48:29 AM

LOLOL, Heimda11!  So true.  Only drawback is, while the first 2 do help , they then cause their own problems that need a-fixin'.  So far music is the only thing that produces no nasty side effects.  Unless you throw your back from headbanging too violently.  Been there, done that.  Martha's just about ready for the rocking chair .

[heimda11] Thursday, October 06, 2011 8:03:55 AM
You might be getting older on paper young lady, but any of your many friends would tell you that you will always be young at heart.  As my body gets older I find there is very little Jack Daniels, Missouri skunk, ice and tape can't fix.
[metalgodess] Wednesday, October 05, 2011 8:45:45 PM
Heimda11 - I know what you mean...there are indeed days that require Jack straight from the bottle...and the older I get, the more of those days there are....
[heimda11] Wednesday, October 05, 2011 6:04:55 PM
Metalgodess, i agree with you about Jack.  The distinct charcoal flavor isn't for everyone.  I often start Jack and water (oooooh it is sooooo goood!), progress to on the rocks, and then (after I'm ready to wrestle a rabid grizzly, which used to be frequently) straight out of the bottle.

[heimda11] Tuesday, October 04, 2011 8:59:50 PM
vanilla ice cream of course
[heimda11] Tuesday, October 04, 2011 8:58:19 PM
There is a stunning beer from a small company in Texas (interestingly, the ONLY state that can legally secede from the United States) called Shinerbock.  It is easily drinkable like an American lager and yet darker hue, full-bodied flavor and smooth, but complex after taste.  Not long ago at Ugly Joe's in Kansas City I put a couple scoops of ice cream in my beer and BANG... the Shinerbock float was born.  If you like good beer and ice cream, TRY IT!  You will be VERY surprised.  The flavors are delightful.

One of my favorites... Absolut Mandarin on the rocks with a lime. The bouquet is delightful.

Choosing between Jack and water or a Guiness draft is like asking Ginger or Mary Ann... both of course.  (Back to spirituality, Ben Franklin said beer was proof that God loves us.)

[Budred] Monday, May 02, 2011 4:06:28 AM
In my youth whiskey or beer, later on it became beer. Now neither.
It's kind of strange how I used to love a drink and now have absolutely no desire what so ever
to have even a single drink. (Never say never though)(LOL)

[METALMANJP] Wednesday, October 20, 2010 1:08:39 PM

Like em both. Just recently introduced to Bushmills Irish Wiskey. Smooth and mellow.

I can't drink too much whiskey, it makes me puke (even sober). I rather have vodka or rum instead of whiskey. But according to the choice, i choose beer.
