That's exactly right HRMG.
Makes me quite sad, actually, some people are never satisfied as you've said. I'm not saying everyone should like every song JP has released, but stop ripping on a bunch of 60 odd year old dudes cos they don't sound like they did 30 fucking years ago! FFS grow a brain!

march of the damned is a good riff-laden piece of music with a pretty darn good solo, as for rob.....;.... exiled from nostradamus is one of the best songs off of that album IMO, i like the way rob sings in a controlled subdued manner yet projects so much power!!,march of the damned reminds of that sublelty a hint of whats to come later,l;ike  when the song alone follows the mellow tones of exiled and then hits that AAAAALONE and proceeds to get a little heavier with a more pronounced scream !, this is what the band does best, experimentation, trys something new , a new look ,a new sound  and i am glad they  arent a formulaic band that just regurgitates what they have done before. .

VERY well-stated, HRMG. Exactly how I feel about Rob's voice and other bands. Driving home from the airport the other day, for example, they play some old Maiden on the Boneyard. I remember thinking back to the time when I thought that they were good. Same for Metallica. Both just get so damn predictable that it bores me to high heaven. Best Metallica song of late? Cover of their Dio tribute "mashup." Then again, it was a cover....

Yes, I can see why some people might say that. But, if you are actually a fan of Priest and/or Rob Halford, you would know that Rob has many different voices that he sings in. He used this same style in parts of Electric Eye and Dreamer Deceiver, just to name 2 classic Priest songs off the top of my head. I don't hear anyone bitching about his voice on either one of those songs. Part of the reason that I love Rob is the fact that he can change his voice to match the feel of the song. That is part of why Priest has never gotten boring to listen to for me, unlike other bands, whose singers can only sing one way. After awhile, all those songs start to sound the same to me and I get bored. Rob keeps it feeling new and fresh by changing his voice/style throughout an album.

So basically this track is about all the fans marching to Priest concerts like a bunch of mad crazed zombies.....very nice Glenn......

Bahaha that's hilarious HRMG!
I liek March of the Damned, more than RoS at the moment. I am enjoying the music, the guitar riffs. I can understand why some people are saying Rob sounds like Ozzy - there is a similarity, but you can tell no question it's Rob FFS, LOL!

YES! Got the sound back.
March of the Damned? Just heard it, and i'm lovin' it. A hard rockin' piece, this one.

Also also! A tour date already! www.rollingstone.com/music/news/fun-fun-fun-fest-judas-priest-nas-neutral-milk-hotel-to-headline-20140519

if you only want the same song played 10 times on 1 album, buy the single, and put it on repeat.  seems simple to me.  No, I dont like every song they have ever done.  I may never listen to Nost start to finish again.  sure wont listen to Rocka Rolla start to finish again.  so, the diversity makes them what they are.

That's for sure HB!! Here's a gem from a "fan": "Priest wimped out with British Steel. Evening Star had me laughing at the first chorus."

Yup, that's a real  fan for ya. Dipshit doesn't know that Evening Star was on the album Hell Bent For Leather, not British Steel. Therefore his agrument is INVALID!!

As far as I'm concerned, they are fans of certain albums/songs and that's it. We are fans of the band!! I don't love every song on every album, but I can appreciate them all and what they were trying to accomplish.

Just back from Honduras and I completely agree about the new album AND your comments about it, JD. Can't wait to hear the whole thing. All the buzz from those (insiders) that have heard the whole thing? Nothing but positive!

Yeah, you know that I like Nostra (obviously some tracks over others as I do have that "filter" that fanboys/girl often lack) but am ready for some classic Priest!!!

As posted: One band to rule them all !!!!

HRMG yes you are right,if Metal Gods were released today people would be calling it weak and how it has no fucking power like Redeemer Of Souls track....its ridiculous....

Head Banger and I were also discussing how if Some Heads Are Gonna Roll were released today same thing HRMG.....people would bitch .

Fuck em.....they are not fans!
[HOT ROCKIN' METAL GODDESS] Monday, May 19, 2014 6:05:25 PM
You are right about people bitching. I was on the JP facebook page and there were a ton of people bitching that March of the Damned isn't fast/heavy enough and Rob sounds like Ozzy, blah.... blah..... blah.....
I think it's hilarious to read some of the stupid shit people write. I swear, some people are NEVER SATISFIED!! I think about one of the Priest classics like Metal Gods and if that song were released today, these idiots would say it sucks because it isn't heavy/fast enough!!

They should have released this song first. At least this one sounds like they were trying to be heavy. Songs like this will make me like this CD, the other song makes me not even want to hear it. I pray it is more in the vain of the second song. As for the new sound I'm not sure I ever ask for anything but that except that it be heavy so if it doesn't sound like "Painkiller" I think that's great.

[J.D. DIAMOND] Monday, May 19, 2014 3:36:41 PM
Fuck yeah HRMG!! This song rulz! It sounds like its own identity in the albums own style yet there are aspects that remind me of British Steel aka perhaps Metal Gods ect....fuckin killer....

I LOVE these 2 tracks so far and YES.... for those who wanted "Painkiller part 2" well this "sound" actually sounds NOTHING like Painkiller besides the similarities between Tedeemer Of Souls and Hell Patrol, but it still doesnt "sound" like it should be on the Painkiller lp....I prefer the Redeemer Of Souls track over the mighty Hell Patrol he he!

Yeah watch, there will be some "fans" who will bitch because they want every track to sound like in a bracket of 5 certain HEAVY Priest songs or whatever ya know....

Yes,being a Priest FAN and claiming them being my #1 fav band since 1981....I feel that my opinions are worthy too as I too know what "classic Priest" should sound like and holy shit HRMG....this is it!!! The Priest are BACK!!!

I have a hell of a feeling that the rest of this album is going to kick major ASS!!
[HOT ROCKIN' METAL GODDESS] Monday, May 19, 2014 1:20:42 PM
OH FUCK YEAH!!!! This song KICKS ASS!! I know there will be a lot of "fans" out there that don't like it because it isn't "Painkiller". Tough shit, this is CLASSIC PRIEST and I for one am thrilled that THE PRIEST IS BACK!!!!!!!

I love the story, that's great. One of those moments you hate going through but the memories and story after make it so worth it. Thanks for sharing that.

@Budred ,those ticket stubs brought it all back! i waited with a thigh cast from a bad motorcycle accident for 30 hours for tickets to The Stones Steel Wheels" FAREWELL TOUR " lol, went done in a bus with 17 other people from the line up and was one of the best experiences i have ever had !!!! The Fuel For Life Tour in 86 was another great moment!!! 4 of us went down to see Priest. i am from the interior of British Columbia Canada, and at that time the quickest way to make the trip was over a high mountain road on a toll road called the Coquihalla highway  We were abou 50 klicks in to an almost 500 klick journey when the water pump blew! well being young . we didnt have the money to buy a spare part , but we bought a map. we then mapped out our route and timed how long we had between over heats to stop at one of the many creeks along the way and fill up . we used whatever we  had on hand (beer cans , pop cans ) to fill up  and as we stopped , we were able to collect more stuff that was lying around to fill up ( milk jugs ,etc) as we got more containers we could drive further lol. we played paper, rock, scissors to see who had to take the radiator cap off, as this was not a fun job!!! but fun to watch that geyser go!!! our biggest worry was rush hour traffic in the july heat and not getting stuck on the Port Mann  bridge !! i got to see my first concert that evening, and it was the mighty Priest!!!!. We slept in a tent that night on a one of the guys uncles lawn and did it all again on the road home !!! It was 1986 and a great time to be 18!!!!  there is a lot more to those 2 stories but that needs to be done over a couple of cold ones and a good chuckle . we often have polls on this site , and there was a discussion on why people picked Turbo over A.O.R ???  i picked Turbo, why?............Memories               cheers Acolyte
