Judas Priest are taking a break from touring this year - they need time to recharge their batteries having just recently finished a two year World Tour in Japan at the end of 2009!

They will of course be promoting the release of 'BRITISH STEEL - 30TH ANNIVERSARY' which is due out in May 2010.

Watch out for the PRIEST MACHINE which will be rolling out again touring the world in 2011 & 2012! The band will be back at a venue near you pounding out their special brand of classic metal as ferociously as ever!

"We had no idea we were making anything special," says Judas Priest guitarist Glenn Tipton of the 1980 album British Steel, now celebrating its 30th anniversary and heralded by millions of fans as a defining moment, not only for the band but for heavy metal as a genre.

"After we finished it, we listened back and we knew we liked it, but we couldn't have anticipated the effect it would have on our careers. Its success shocked us all."

Co-guitarist KK Downing recalls that “the songs felt a bit tighter than anything we had done prior. But we didn’t sit down and say, 'Right, this is what we need to get on the radio.' As the saying goes, we were flying by the seat of our pants.”

Just finished our US Tour - we're all going to take a short rest now before we head off to Japan!! The US shows were fabulous and the audience reaction was fantastic!! A big thank you to everyone who came to the shows - we had a great time - our only sorrow was that Whitesnake were not able to finish the last few shows with us due to David's very bad throat infection - He's getting better now so hopefully we'll all be working together again sometime in the not too distant future! London, 3rd December 2009 – Due to unforeseen circumstances Judas Priest have revised their 2009 tour of the UK as follows. The show at the Nottingham Arena has been cancelled, with existing ticket holders being offered a pair of tickets to either Sheffield Arena 13th February or Birmingham LG Arena, 14th February shows. Furthermore, their Manchester show on 17th February has changed to the Apollo Theatre – Standing tickets are valid for the same date for this new show, seated tickets will need to be exchanged at point of purchase. Metal veterans Megadeth and Testament will support the forthcoming dates.

We've just finished the first leg of our US Tour culminating with an appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel TV Show which was a really great experience!! This show is going out to millions of viewers all over the USA!!

We are now in Australia - having a few days off in the Gold Coast - recharging our batteries to get ready to start our Australian dates in Brisbande on Wednesday 10th September - looking forward to bringing Judas Priest Metal to Australia!!

Who could have predicted a band who’ve been around since the beginning of time (more precisely, since the inception of heavy metal) would produce such an audaciously ambitious project? Judas Priest’s Nostradamus is a 23-track, double-CD concept album. Unlike the central figures in other such releases like Pink Floyd’s The Wall, The Who’s Tommy, or Iron Maiden’s Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son (also a seer), Nostradamus actually existed. With orchestral elements, Rob Halford’s piercingly high and alternately resonant low vocals, and one cut mainly sung in Italian, it almost deserves to be called a metal opera.

Well we've finished the first leg of the Priest tour in Europe and had a fantastic reaction from everywhere starting in Helsinki and finishing in Istanbul. We played Countries that we have never been to before such as Romania and Turkey which we found fascinating - there were even fans from Iran at the Istanbul show! It goes to show just how rock and metal is underestimated and so popular all over this world!

Glenn has seen a specialist and even though he is still not well and has to have more tests next week he will be finishing off the rest of the European Dates!

Belgrade and Zagreb Shows Cancelled

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel two shows - tonight in Belgrade and tomorrow in Zagreb - this is due to Glenn Tipton being ill - he has been pretty sick for about a week now but has struggled on regardless - he has been in a lot of pain and has been told be a doctor that he is suffering from a very painful appendix inflammation and needs to come back to the UK to see a specialist which he is doing today - he has been instructed by the doctor not to perform for a couple of days - this is the first time in the history of Judas Priest that we have had to cancel any shows and we are very sorry to all those disappointed fans - however Glenn's health must come first!

We have just come back from the states where we had a week of intensive promotion for the new Judas Priest album 'Nostradamus' and Metal Masters US Tour! It all went really well and the reaction to the album has been phenominal!! We did two in-stores (something JP haven't done in over 25 years!) - see a few of the photos below - as you can see some people ask the band to sign the strangest things - one woman even brought her 3 week old twins along and wanted the guys to sign their bibs...!!
